Changes to Return to Work for SAPOL

I am pleased to advise that the Government and the Police Association of South Australian (PASA) have reached an agreement which provides ongoing medical cover and income support for police officers injured in dangerous situations, who have not been able to return to work within two years of their injury.

This agreement ensures that police officers who are injured in the line of duty will receive ongoing income support and cover for relevant medical expenses once Return to Work entitlements are exhausted.

There has never been any doubt that the State Government has the utmost respect for our police force and the work they do and I am pleased that we have a positive outcome that for police officers who put themselves in harm’s way to keep our community safe.

The agreement forms part of the new SAPOL Enterprise Agreement.
