Funding toward the commissioning of ephemeral, temporary and permanent quality new work by South Australian artists for installation in high profile publicly accessible environments throughout the state.
Applicants will have an artist's concept or developed proposal they seek to commission. Public Art and Design commissions may involve a range of approaches and participants, but central to the project will be the professional artist. It is a requirement that the commissioner provide at least 30% (cash or in kind) of the total project implementation budget. Applications are accepted from SA individuals, community groups, organisations (including those in receipt of ongoing Arts SA funds) and Local and State Government agencies. The private sector is eligible for financial assistance only when in partnership with another eligible applicant, but not directly. The private sector can obtain advice on the commissioning of works of art for public places. Refer to Arts SA website for full eligibility criteria.
